Richard___Peggy06  Join us on March 3 for our 77th Erev Shabbat teaching and joyous celebration. Our theme is Boasting Against the Branches.

Dear friends, when was the last time you heard a sermon from Romans 11? Probably not in a long time. And if you did hear a sermon from this text, it most likely was one of those “skipping on down” sermons where the text is glossed over or presented with a Greco-Roman interpretation.

Romans 11 is one of the most neglected of Scriptures in the New Testament. The reason should be obvious. In this chapter, Paul warns the new Gentile believers against an arrogant, haughty attitude towards the Jewish people. Here are his words.

“Do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast,
remember that you do not support the root,
but the toot supports you.”

While Paul warns against this attitude, he seems to have the sense that this is exactly the attitude that will emerge from the Gentile-dominated Christian religion. Unfortunately, his intuition was correct.

After the second Jewish revolt in 132-135AD, the leaders of the new Christian religion were no longer Jewish. Gentiles became the new leaders of Christianity. They were Greek philosophers and were anti-Semitic to the core. Join us as Dr. Booker explains how they changed the Christian cross into the Church’s sword.
