Join us on October 7 for our 72 Erev Shabbat teaching and joyous celebration. Our theme this month is
THE sign of the coming of the Lord
One of the most comforting, yet, mystifying, statements Jesus made to His followers is recorded in the gospel of John. Jesus said to His disciples (talmidim):
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also (John 14:1-3)
Jesus said that He would come again. What is taking Him so long?
For the past 2,000 years, believers have wondered and hoped that Jesus would fulfill His words in their generation.
Spiritual leaders have been so sure Jesus was coming in their lifetime that they gave their followers false hope that led to deep disappointment and disillusionment. Does anybody remember the book, “88 Reasons Why Jesus is Coming in 1988”?
While we should not make predictions about the timing of the coming of Jesus, Jesus did say that we should be spiritually alert to prophetic signs and seasons (Matt. 16:2-3).
Some of these signs are:
vReturn of Dispersed Jews to their homeland (Ezek. 37)
vThe Jews repossess Jerusalem (Dan. 9:27; Matt. 24:15)
vThe Jews rebuild the Temple (Dan. 9:27; Matt. 24:25; 2 Thess. 2:1-4)
vOne world government (Dan. 2 & 7; Rev 13)
vOne world religious system (Rev. 13 & 17)
vWorld wide travel and education (Dan. 12:4)
vScoffers (2 Pet. 3:3-6)
vRise of the occult (Rev. 9:20-21; 18:23)
vApostate Church (Rev. 3:14-22; 2 Tim. 4:1-4; 2 Thess 2:1-3)
vMoral breakdown of society (2 Tim. 3:1-5)
While these are important signs, there is one sign that is THE sign of the coming of the Lord.
Come learn what is
THE SIGN
of the coming of the Lord!
