Survivor Lili Gordon\u2019s answer to that question is one so beyond\u00a0 human comprehension her survival can only be explained as \u201cmiraculous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lili\u2019s parents were actors, and they were Jews. When Hitler\u2019s Nazi army advanced on Kiev, Ukraine, on June 22, 1941, Lili\u2019s father was drafted into the Russian army. He told Lili\u2019s mother to leave Kiev, even though she was eight months pregnant.
