HOW ISLAM CONSOLIDATED ITS POWER

AND SPREAD ITS MESSAGE

PART 3 OF 4

ISIS and radical Islam are the main issues in our world but Westerners know so little about Islam. I encourage everyone to read my book, Radical Islam’s War Against Israel, Christianity and the West. For those who are interested, I am available to teach on “ISIS, the Islamic Caliphate and the End Times.” This is really, really important. So please call our office to discuss your interest.

To help you understand how Islam established itself as a regional power and threat to the West, I am posting a blog of four articles entitled, “How Islam Consolidated its Power and Spread its Message.” The information presented focuses on the four leaders who succeeded Mohammed. This article is about Uthman ibn Affan.

Uthman ibn Affan (644-656)

The third Caliph or successor to Mohammed was Uthman ibn Affan. He ruled for 644-656. Under his rule, Uthman’s followers, eager for more conquests and taxes, greatly expanded the empire of Islam. As they conquered more territory with the Sword of Islam, they subjected the conquered to the same harsh subjection instituted by Omar.

But Uthman’s greatest accomplishment was to codify the Koran in its final form. He revised the earlier work done by Zayd and produced the version of the Koran he personally wanted by tampering with the text and leaving out what he didn’t like.

Uthman’s enemies claimed that his version of the Koran was a “monstrous falsification.” Uthman responded by publicly burning all the existing copies of the Koran so that his version was the only one to survive. It is the basis for all later copies of the Koran including modern ones. This is ironic since Islam teaches that the Jews and Christians corrupted the Bible. Yet, it was the Koran that was corrupted. Uthman had many enemies who succeeded in assassinating him on June 17, 656. He was 83.
