DOES EZEKIEL KNOW?

I have always wondered if the biblical prophets know what is happening in our world today. For example, does Zechariah know that all the nations are “coming up to Jerusalem” to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles as he wrote in Zechariah 14:16?

Regarding the signing of a nuclear agreement with Iran, does Ezekiel know that his prophecy recorded in Ezekiel 38-39 is now a clear and present danger to the United States and the whole world?

The American president, who hates his own country, just advanced the likelihood that we will see Ezekiel’s prophecy fulfilled in our lifetime. I cannot think of any agreement more evil and more destructive to the world than the agreement the US government made with Iran. As we all should know, it is far worse for Israel than any other country.

As evil as it is, we must remember that the Creator of the universe is sovereign and has written history in advance for our understanding. And He will use for good what man intends for evil.

You see, Ezekiel prophesied that in the latter days of history, when Israel is restored as a nation, Persia would join with Gog and other nations to attack Israel. Biblical Persia is modern day Iran. Iran will soon have the ability to launch nuclear weapons on their missiles which will be capable of hitting the US. Are we those dwelling in securely in the coastlands?

God gave this insight to Ezekiel who wrote these words 2,600 years ago, “And I [God] will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security [confidently] in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the LORD. So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel” (Ezekiel 39:6-7).

God has a plan for Israel and the nations. He has written it in the Book of Books—the holy Bible. Evil world leaders think they are having their way. God sits in the heavens laughing at their blind arrogance. He will have His way.

While there are difficult days ahead, Ezekiel is clear—Israel will survive it all and become the head of nations. The people of God will prevail and rule the nations under the righteous government of the One True God. You can bet our life on it.

In spite of the evil path the world in on, all nations will acknowledge and worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. King David himself wrote of this time and said, “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the LORD’s and He rules over the nations” (Psalm 22:27-28).

I hope you enjoyed your July 4th holiday. Here are the people who made it possible. Take a few minutes while enjoying our freedoms and thank God for these patriots. Freedom is never free! We have to fight to get it and fight to keep it. As we see our freedoms being taken away from us, what price are we willing to pay?

The 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence

What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
Eleven were merchants.
Nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated.
But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton , Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
At the battle of Yorktown , Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.
The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying.
Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill
were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

In a further effort to destroy America, the US Government is in the process of importing thousands of Syrian refugees to a city near you. Over 90 percent of these refugees are Muslims with the vast majority being Sunni.

These people don’t speak English, have no skills, no understanding of our Constitution, culture, Judeo-Christians values and way of life. They have never seen a John Wayne movie or an American reality TV show.

Unlike European immigrants in the 1800-1900’s, these folk are not going to assimilate, become Americans and pledge allegiance to the Flag. We, the American taxpayers, will be responsible for their food, clothing and shelter…. Forever! How many of these are jihadist, only the Lord knows!

Korean Ministry

Dear Friends:

I wanted to let you know about our important work in South Korea. Not only do I have three books translated and distributed in South Korea, but we also have a significant television ministry there.

With anti-Semitism spreading unchecked around the world, it is most significant that I recently did two television programs for the South Koreans on anti-Semitism.

 The Korean television company is BradTV, a pro-Israel Christian organization. They showed up at my farm the other day to interview me for two programs from the book. They had a copy of How the Cross Became a Sword in Korean which they brought for me to sign.

The interesting thing about this is that I did not know this book had been translated and was being distributed in S. Korea. In other-words, it is a pirated copy that I did not authorize. I learned also that someone else hadtranslated the book and was distributing it in S. Korea. So there are two pirated copies of How the Cross Became a Sword being distributed in S. Korea.

It was most remarkable to see the video of four S. Korean TV people driving down the little one lane dirt road to my farm and then turning onto my property through the gate, past the horses, and then finally coming to my front door where I greeted them. Only one of them spoke English.

WE WON THE ELECTION

We won the election! I don’t mean in the US, but in Turkey. On Sunday, June 7, Turkey had its national election. Why is this important and how did we win?

The Turkish Ottoman Empire had ruled the Middle East for 400 years, 1517-1917. It was an Islamic Caliphate similar to what ISIS is trying to reestablish. With the empire in ashes at the end of WW I, young Turks reconstituted Turkey as a secular, Western-styled democracy, of sorts.

This new form of government came into power on October 29, 1923, with Mustafa Kemal (Atatürk) as its first president. One of his first actions was to abolish the Caliphate. The government of Turkey has functioned in this way and aligned itself with the West for the last 80 years. That is, until recently.

The current president of Turkey is Recep Tayyip Erdogan. His party is known as the AKP. Erdgoan is a radical Islamists. From the time he came into power in 2002, he has moved Turkey away from its secularism towards Islam. He has been successful. His goal is to reconstitute the Islamic Caliphate in Turkey with Turkey, once again, ruling the Middle East. He has stirred up hatred of Israel, supported ISIS and been belligerent towards the US.

In the June 7 election, he hoped to reshape Turkey’s democracy by changing the dynamics of power from the Turkish parliament to give more power to the presidency, that is, to him. If he had succeeded, there would be little to restrain him from further establishing radical Islamic practices on the secular Muslim population, as well as the non-Muslim minorities. He would have been even more belligerent towards Israel and the US as well as his Arab neighbors in the region.

Thank God he did not get the majority he wanted. While his AKP still won the largest representation in the Turkish parliament, he was not able to consolidate his power and have a free hand to push his radical Islamic agenda in Turkey and the region. Of course, Erdogan is angry and frustrated. No telling what he will try next. So while you are watching US politics, keep your eyes and prayers on Turkey as there is a great battle for its soul. Is Ezekiel 38 waiting for Turkey?

Ali bin Abu Taleb (656-661)

 

            The fourth and last of the Arabian Caliphs or successors was Ali bin Abu Taleb. Ali was a cousin of Mohammed. Shiite Islamic leaders believed he was the true successor because he was blood kin to Mohammed. Others wanted to revenge the murder of Uthman. In a bitter rivalry, Ali was murdered in 661. His son, Hussain, was Mohammed’s grandson. He was murdered in 680. This caused a great split in Islam which still exists today. The followers of Ali are the Shiites and the followers of “the majority rule” are the Sunnis. About 85% of the one billion Muslims are Sunni. Iran and Iraq are Shiite.

 

Damascus Caliphs

With Ali died, the center of the Islamic world moved from Arabia to Damascus, Syria. Islamic leaders from Damascus further extended Islam conquering more territory including all of North Africa and Spain as well as lands stretching to the western border of China and the southern borders of France. In 691, the Dome of the Rock was built in Jerusalem to show Muslim superiority over Judaism. In 715, the Great Mosque of Damascus was built to replace the Great Cathedral of St. John to show the superiority of Islam over Christianity.

 

Battle of Tours

Islam was now eager and convinced it could conquer the West. One of the most important battles of history took place in France at the Battle of Tours. Muslims were poised to bring “Christian Europe” under the rule of Islam. With their superior numbers, fanaticism, and successful conquest in battle, Islamic leaders and warriors thought they could easily defeat the French. Yet they were miraculously stopped by Charles Martel in 732. They were only 100 miles from Paris. The defeat was a shock to what had been an unstoppable army. After this defeat, Islam moved its capital from Damascus to Baghdad.

On two occasions Islam attacked Vienna. Again with superior numbers, the armies of Islam were convinced that victory was certain. But on both occasions, they failed. Finally, in 1453, the Muslim Ottoman Turks conquered Constantinople thus bringing an end to the Christian Byzantine Empire. They changed the name to Istanbul.

An Islamic Turkey ruled the Middle East from 1517 to 1917 when the Western powers defeated them in World War I. When turkey was defeated, the land of Israel, which the world called Palestine, was a barren wasteland waiting for its rightful owners, the Jews, to return home and claim it for themselves. Turkey was reconstituted as a secular state an aligned itself with the West until recently when the new Turkish leaders turned Turkey into an Islamic state. Their desire is to once again make Turkey the leader of a unified Islamic caliphate.

Uthman ibn Affan (644-656)

 

The third Caliph or successor to Mohammed was Uthman ibn Affan. He ruled for 644-656. Under his rule, Uthman’s followers, eager for more conquests and taxes, greatly expanded the empire of Islam. As they conquered more territory with the Sword of Islam, they subjected the conquered to the same harsh subjection instituted by Omar.

            But Uthman’s greatest accomplishment was to codify the Koran in its final form. He revised the earlier work done by Zayd and produced the version of the Koran he personally wanted by tampering with the text and leaving out what he didn’t like.

Uthman’s enemies claimed that his version of the Koran was a “monstrous falsification.” Uthman responded by publicly burning all the existing copies of the Koran so that his version was the only one to survive. It is the basis for all later copies of the Koran including modern ones. This is ironic since Islam teaches that the Jews and Christians corrupted the Bible. Yet, it was the Koran that was corrupted. Uthman had many enemies who succeeded in assassinating him on June 17, 656. He was 83.

Omar ibn al-Khattab (634-644)

 

Abu Bakr was succeeded by Omar ibn al-Khattab. With the power base consolidated and secured in Arabia, Omar was able to devote his rule to expanding Islam outside of Arabia. What the apostle Paul was to Jesus, Omar was to Mohammed. He was the apostle and evangelist of Islam. And like the apostle Paul, Omar was incredibly successful in spreading Islam.

With the help of Khalid ibn al-Walid, Omar used the “Sword of A-l-l-ah” to rapidly conquer the lands of the Middle East. There was nothing peaceful about it. It is a fact that no nation has ever peacefully embraced Islam. This “religion of peace” has always conquered and subjugated people with the sword. Under Omar’s direction, the tribes of Arabia united under the banner of Islam.

Then suddenly and without warning, Omar and his army of blood thirsty ruthless marauding followers violently burst out of Arabia and devastated and conquered the surrounding Christian and Jewish communities. One after another, and in rapid succession, Omar conquered Syria in 632, Iraq in 636, Egypt in 639, and Persia in 642. Most importantly, and tragically, Omar conquered Jerusalem in 635. He entered Jerusalem in 638 and declared the Temple Mount to be an Islamic holy site. He built a wooden Mosque at the present location of the Dome of the Rock and dedicated the place of Solomon’s Temple to A-l-l-a-h.

Historian George Grant in his book, Blood of the Moon: Understanding the Historic Struggle between Islam and Western Civilization (Thomas Nelson Publishers, Nashville) describes Omar as follows: “A stern giant of a man with a long dark beard and a full, brooding countenance. He wore coarse, frayed garments and always carried a whip in his right hand in order to enforce righteous humility among his men. He had little appreciation for the accomplishments of Byzantine and was single-minded in his desire to bring the empire to its knees.”

“Omar entered Jerusalem riding upon a white camel. He was dressed in worn filthy robes, and the army that followed him was rough and unkempt. But its discipline was perfect. Omar rode straight to the sight of the Temple of Solomon … He was shocked at the filth and rubble that lay strewn about the Temple Mount. Because the holy sight had been neglected he made the Christian Patriarch grovel in the muck. Afterward Omar set about clearing the sight. He then built a wooden mosque on the Temple Mount.”

His conquests present Omar with a dilemma. Under his predecessor, Islam was limited to Arabia. But now Omar had conquered a vast territory which has been the land of Jews and Christians. What was he to do with these Jews and Christians?

Omar decreed that Jews and Christians were inferior to Muslims because Islam had superseded and conquered Judaism and Christianity. His determined that Jews and Christians living under Islam would be considered “dhimmis” which is a word for non-Muslims living under Muslim rule.

Omar decreed that the “dhimmis” did not have to convert to Islam and were to be treated with mercy as long as they followed rules he established for a conquered people living under Islamic rule. These rules were such that under the most benevolent Muslim leader, Jews and Christians were constantly harassed and humiliated while under the intolerant leaders, they feared for their lives.

Here is the Omar Charter that provided the manner in which Jews were to live under Islam. There were similar rules for Christians. This is still the guiding policy for Islam and would be the way Christians and Jews would be treated in an Islamic America.

The Omar Charter

 

  1. Jews were forbidden to touch the Koran.
  2. Jews were required to wear distinctive clothing.
  3. Jews were required to wear a yellow piece of cloth as a badge (blue for Christians).
  4. Jews were not allowed to perform their religious practices in public.
  5. Jews were not allowed to own a horse which was a sign of a nobleman.
  6. Jews were required to bury their dead without grieving in public.
  7. Jews were required to pay special taxes.
  8. Jews were not allowed to defend themselves against a Moslem.
  9. Jews were not allowed to testify against a Moslem.
  10. Jews were forbidden to build new synagogues.
  11. The houses and tombs of Jews were not allowed to be higher than those of the Moslems.
  12. The graves of Jews had to be level so that anyone could walk over them.

 

In ten short years, Omar had established an Islamic empire throughout North Africa and the Middle East reaching into Asia. He established an Islamic social order of semi-slavery for the “infidel” Jews and Christians living under Islamic rule. By taxing the conquered people, he brought great wealth to Islam. Omar was assassinated at the Mosque in Medina and died on November 23, 644. He also was buried beside Mohammed.

George Grant gives us the incredible significance of Omar. He writes, “Before his death in A. D. 644, Omar had spread the domination of Islam from the Euphrates to North Africa. He had conquered all of Iraq, brought Persia to the brink of collapse, controlled the southern Mediterranean coastline, and put Christendom on the defensive at every turn. In addition, he left his successors a tumultuous momentum that gave them expansive new conquests in Spain, Sicily, Crete and Italy.”

Throughout the centuries, Jews and Christians living under Islamic rule suffered persecution and humiliation, the intensity of which was determined by the character of the particular Moslem ruler. Even under relevantly tolerant rule, Jews and Christians struggled to survive and lived in constant fear for their lives. Not much has changed.

In modern times, when Jordan illegally occupied East Jerusalem from 1948-1967, all Jewish residents were expelled and barred from the Western Wall. The Jewish quarter, including all fifty-eight synagogues, was destroyed or desecrated. This was done under the rule of King Hussein, the most moderate of Arab rulers.

Abu Bakr (632-634)

 

When Mohammed died in 632, he was succeeded by four leaders who were instrumental in solidifying Mohammed’s teachings and spreading them with the sword. The first of these Caliphs or successors, was Abu Bakr

Abu Bakr was a father-in-law to Mohammed and one of his first converts. His immediate challenge was that many Mohammed had forced to covert by the sword began to revolt. If the Mohammed’s teachings were to survive, Abu Bakr had to crush the rebellion and forcibly keep the people submitted to the teachings of Mohammed.

Abu Bakr turned to his commander, Khalid ibn al-Walid, to put down the revolt. Al-Walid was a brutal, ruthless war-lord who showed no mercy in slaughtering those revolting. He said, “The taste of blood is pleasant on my mouth.” He became known as the “Sword of A-l-l-ah.” He was successful in stopping the revolt and firmly establishing Islam as the new religious/idealogy of Arabia. We see from the very beginning of Islam, that the only way this “religion of peace” survived and spread, was by the sword.

Abu Bakr died of a sickness on August 23, 634 and was buried beside Mohammed. He was 63 years old. He was the only one of the four successors who died of natural causes. The others were murdered in blood rivalries.

Before he died, Abu Bakr realized that many of Mohammed’s trusted companions had been killed. In order to preserve Mohammed’s sayings, Abu Bakr had Mohammed’s secretary, Zayd ibn Thabit, collect as many of Mohammed’s sayings as possible. This proved to be a difficult task and there was no oversight, no team of scholars, no sound methodology, and no and checks and balances to validate or verify the integrity of Zayds work. It was all based on hearsay.

Ancient Sacred Borders and the Modern State of Israel

In Bible times people believed that land was owned by the deity they worshiped and that the land borders were sacred. We read in Leviticus, “The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for your are strangers and sojourners with Me” (Leviticus 25:23).

Joel writes, “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land” (Joel 3:1-2).

This is why God instructed the Hebrews not to move boundary markers (Deuteronomy 19:14).  To remove the covenant landmarks and divide the land was not just an attack against the people, but more importantly, against the deity the people worshiped.  It was the way the enemy showed that their god was greater.

We must have this knowledge to be able to understand the ancient biblical context of God’s warning in Zechariah 12:3, “And it shall happen in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone (boundary marker of God’s territory) for all peoples, all who would heave it away (divide Jerusalem) will surely be cut in pieces (cursed for attacking the sacred covenant land), though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”

As long as our beloved America continues to pressure Israel to divide up God’s sacred land, including Jerusalem, we can expect America to continue to implode from within at an accelerated rate of decline followed by collapse and chaos of all of our systems. Our only hope is to return, tesuvah, to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and stand unwavering with Israel.
